Kirkstall Brewery
A brewery in Leeds making modern, flavourful beer, inspired by the brewing heritage of Kirkstall.
In the 12th century, Cistercian monks founded Kirkstall Abbey and started the area’s brewing legacy when they built a brewhouse. This was followed in the 19th century by the original Kirkstall Brewery, which followed the rich brewing tradition laid down by the monks, helping quench the thirst of workers at the nearby Kirkstall Forge, which was also a legacy of the Abbey.
Our own brewery was founded in 2011 and makes (what we hope is) quality, quaffable beer which, whilst being informed by trend, maintains consistency and stability.
